Korg announces a new iPad App in collaboration with the cool band Gorillaz (Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett). The group's latest LP, The Fall, is particularly notable for being recorded entirely on Albarn's Apple iPad. Among the apps used was Korg's best-selling iElectribe, and to commemorate the album’s release, Korg and Gorillaz have teamed up to offer the special iElectribe Gorillaz Edition.
A limited run of 10,000 units has been released at a very special price of $9.99 U.S. Creative and fun, this app was designed for Gorillaz fans, as well as modern musicians everywhere.
The Korg iElectribe is a virtual analog beatbox for the iPad; sound creation is easy, fun and intuitive - just as on a vintage analog synthesizer. Users simply choose an instrument part and touch the 16-step sequencer to quickly build a groove. The aggressive sound, unique functionality and intuitive beat-building style of the Korg Electribe series made it a favorite of Gorillaz for The Fall.
While retaining the intuitive beat-making features of the iElectribe, the special Gorillaz Edition has been customized to generate samples from the The Fall, allowing the user to create music in a wide variety of musical styles. The iElectribe Gorillaz Edition features a unique design and synthesizer engine including 128 new sounds created by Gorillaz and 64 ready-to-use pre-programmed patterns by the sound team of Gorillaz, producer Stephen Sedgwick, and Korg.
You can get the Korg iElectribe Gorillaz Edition iPad App now on iTunes.
