Specifications

The iFrogz EarPollution Plugz have an integrated mic and remote for controlling your music. The drivers are 9mm units and the impedance is 32 ohms. The frequency response is 30Hz to 20kHz and the cord is 1.25m long. You can buy the iFrogz EarPollution Plugz in several colors right now for under $20.

In Use

It hasn’t been very long at all since I reviewed the EarPollution Ozone earphones with a mic. The Ozone and Plugz earphones sound similar. The sound quality from the iFrogz EarPollution Plugz is more focused on the highs than anything else. The music is crisp and clear, but the mids and bass are lacking and vastly underpoiwered compared to the Ozone earphones.

The big upside for the iFrogz EarPollution Plugz is that they are $19.99 making them a bargain. The earphones are also very comfortable and come with three different sizes of ear tips to make a custom fit. The soft ear tips block external sounds to make your music sound better and help you keep your sanity.

The iFrogz EarPollution Plugz earphones blocked a lot of the noise my rowdy kids make since they are home all day now that school is out. The microphone works well and while it picks up wind noise, you can talk and be heard. The earphones have an inline remote for pausing, playing, and going back and forth through track on your play list.

A single click pauses or plays, three clicks goes to the previous track and two clicks skips to the next track in your play list. I think considering the price that many people will find these earphones appealing. Just don't buy them thinking you are going to get deep bass, because you don’t. The bass and mids are what you give up here for the lower price point. Still the iFrogz EarPollution Plugz are better sounding than most of the stock earphones I have used that come with an iPod or MP3 player.

The iFrogz EarPollution Plugz are vey comfortable. They are lightweight and stay in your ears even if you move around a lot. These would work well for someone wanting a cheap set of earphones that will work well at the gym.

Verdict

Pros

  • Inline remote and mic
  • Comfortable
  • Cheap

Cons

  • Poor bass and mids

Conclusion

The iFrogz EarPollution Plugz are a nice set of earphones aimed at the budget shopper who doesn't want lots of bass. The inline control is welcome at this price and the earphones are comfortable as well. If you don’t expect thumping bass, the iFrogz EarPollution Plugz will serve you well.
