LG is busy promoting their polarizer based 3D TVs dubbed Cinema 3D. LG is confident that Film Patterned Retarder (FPR) based 3D TVs are going to be the dominate 3D technology come this Holiday shopping season. The advantage of FPR is that the 3D glasses are much cheaper as they are passive like in the 3D movie theaters.
LG has hired Hollywood star Megan Fox to promote the LG Cinema 3D TVs in the Middle East. LG booked the Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi for a special marketing event. Interestingly Megan Fox is not shown in any of the press photos wearing 3D glasses.
Last year polarizer based 3D TVs have been the exception. LG is now fully betting on this 3D technology. LG says that they think we will see some surprisingly positive numbers related ot home 3D adoption in the six months. In the meantime enjoy the Megan Fox photos in the gallery.
LG 3D Cinema TVs are on sale on Amazon. The 55-inch LG Infinia 55LW5600 with four pairs of glasses sells for $1,719.97.
