Apple Back To School 2011 Deal to be announced June 14?

Apple did not unveil the 2011 Back To School deal at the WWDC 2011 keynote as rumors in May said. This year Apple is waiting pretty long to unveil the deal for students. Last year Apple announced the Back To School deal on May 25. Apple has announced the Back To School deal either end of May or first week of June in past years. I do not expect Apple to announce anything anymore this week.

There is also a chance that there will be not Back To School deal this year. Apple has all year round special pricing for the educational market. My guess is though that Apple will unveil the 2011 Back To School deal next Tuesday, June 14. Anything later would start to really point towards no special Back To School promotion for 2011. I know that lots of students are eagerly waiting for the Back To School deal and hold off their Mac purchases. Apple would disappoint a lot of people, in case there will be no promotion.

We still do not know what Apple will offer this year. There are some rumors saying that Apple might offer a discount on the iPad when purchasing a new Mac. In the past years Apple offered a free 8GB iPod touch with a Mac purchase.

Update 06/16/11:
The 2011 Apple Back To School Promotion has officially launched. Students, You get a free $100 App Store Gift Card with your Mac purchase. Educational price discounts of course still apply. Save for instance $200 on the MacBook Pro.

Update 06/14/11:
New rumors say that Apple will only offer a $100 iTunes gift card as 2011 Apple Back to School Deal.

Update:
A new rumor points to Wednesday, June 15 as launch date for the 2011 Apple Back To School Promotion. It could be that Apple is not using Tuesday as launch because of the Pentecost Monday holiday in some countries like Germany.
