Struggling Nokia still leads the smartphone sales charts. This has been ridiculous since the iPhone and Android based smartphone entered the market. Most Nokia phones are not smarpthones when compared to an iPhone or an Android phone. They are just not providing the same value. The issue will be soon moot according to research company Nomura (via Reuters).
Samsung is supposed to overtake Nokia this quarter and end Nokia's reign. A major driver for Samsung smartphone sales will be the new Galaxy S2. Apple is supposed to beat Nokia next Quarter handing the Finnish phone maker through to the 3rd spot.
Nokia has lost it. The company had great phones a decade ago and I was using several models of them. They became slow and got disrupted by Apple and Google's Android. The new Microsoft centric strategy is at least something. It might be though to late. HTC and others are possibly better and faster making great Windows Phone based smartphones.
