The 16GB iPhone 4 sells for $649 and the 32GB iPhone 4 sells for $749. Unlocked iPhone 4s have been available in Europe for a while now. In Germany the unlocked 16GB iPhone 4 sells for 629 Euro (~$908) and the 32GB iPhone 4 has a price-tag of 739 Euro (~$1,066).
The 16GB iPhone 4 is $260 cheaper and the 32GB iPhone 4 even $317 in the US compared to Germany. Yes, the Dollar is weak, but that makes unlocked iPhone 4 a bargain for Europeans visiting the United States.
Why Apple is all of a sudden offering unlocked iPhones in the US is still a mystery. Note that only the GSMmodel is available unlocked. Apple says that the unlocked iPhone 4 is the best choice if you prefer to use local carriers when abroad.
