The Apple iPhone 5 is rumored to have an edge-to-edge screen. But what does this actually mean? How thin can the bezel be with the currently available display components? We might now just have gotten a look at what the edge-to-edge screen on the iPhone 5 will look like. An image of the unannounced Sony Ericsson Xperia Duo surfaced in China. The Xperia Duo is supposed the first dual-core Android phone from Sony Ericsson. What peaked my interest is mostly the screen and how thin the bezel is. It is not as thin as I had it pictured in my mind and also what some Apple fans did with Photoshop, but possibly this is how far to the edge current LCD displays can go to the edge.
Above you see the iPhone 4 compared to the leaked Xperia Duo. The difference is very visible and actually makes the iPhone 4 look dated already. Edge-to-edge screens seem to be set for becoming the new must have design element for smartphones this fall.
