I am pretty much convinced that we will not see any new Apple hardware until OS X Lion is released in July. We might see the new 2011 MacBook Air come out at the same day even. Besides the 2011 MacBook Air, Apple fans also wait for new models of the Mac Pro and the mac mini. Brian Tong from CNet tweeted according to 9to5Mac that the 2011 Mac Pro and Mac mini are launching either end of July or first week of August.
Obviously the new Mac Pro and Mac mini will get the Thunderbolt port and also be based on the new Intel Sandy Bridge CPUs. 9to5Mac also says that the new Mac Pro will be smaller, rack mountable and support multiple SSD drives.
I am still very curious to see what Apple is going to do with the dated MacBook this year.
Now we just have to twiddle our thumbs until Apple release OS X Lion somewhen in July. As reported Apple will release the $29.99 OS X 10.7 update via the Mac App Store. Wiil Apple's infrastructure break down on release day? The OS X updates are usually huge files. I would be surprised if we do not see a major overload and very slow download speeds for at least 24 hours after the release.
