Archos announced new HoneyComb Tablets with the Archos G9 series due in September. The French gadget maker also announced two new interesting home gadgets running Android. The Archos 35 Home Connect, an Android-based web radio and the Archos 35 Smart Home Phone, an Android DECT phone. Both are smart devices and feature all of the Android functionalities.

The Archos 35 Home Connect is a music box and an portable Android device for streaming radio and music anywhere at home such as the bedroom, kitchen, bathroom or kids room. Small, compact and easy to carry, Archos 35 Home connect features WiFi and decent sound quality becoming a part of your daily life.

The Archos 35 Smart Home Phone will make owning a home phone popular again says the company. It brings Smartphone functionality into your home and gives you access to thousands of applications such as weather, news, games and traffic.

Both Archos Android-based home devices, thanks to the front facing webcams, bring new usages such as video calling, baby monitoring and even room surveillance.

An Android DECT phone is a very cool idea. Priced only at $159, I actually consider getting this when it comes out.

The Archos 35 Home Connect is expected to be available in September 2011 at the RRP of $149. The ARCHOS 35 Smart Home Phone is expected to be available in September 2011 at the RRP of $159. Both devices will be available at the end of September and will be shown beginning of September at IFA.

About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
