Specifications

The Cocoon Grid-It Wrap is a cool neoprene case for the iPad with a pouch that will fit the iPad tablet and other tablets of similar size. It has a Grid-it outside that covered up with the neoprene flap that you can put accessories and more on. The Cocoon Grid-It Wrap measures 11.25" x 1.25" x 9.25: and weighs 1.01 pounds. You can get on now for $29.99.

In Use

The Cocoon Grid-It Wrap I am reviewing today I tested with my original iPad. My review unit is red neoprene on the outside, but you can get black and gray too. This is one of the most interesting and unique iPad or tablet cases on the market today. The pouch section that holds the iPad is protected well from bumps and drops. The coolest part of the pouch though is the Grid-It section between the iPad compartment and the top flap of the case.

The Grid-It section has all these little straps that run different direction and have anti-slip material on them to grip whatever you might want you put inside. The woven design of the straps means that you can slip things into the straps in just about any orientation and you can get a bunch of stuff into the Cocoon Grid-It Wrap.

This case holds more than most others that just offer a few pockets. The cool part is the non-slip grips on the straps keep heavier items like your smartphone or iPod from slipping out. If you use a thin camera, you can even get that onto the Grid-it area. I am testing the case with my iPad, but it will work with any tablet of roughly the same dimensions.

The tablet pocket has a mostly ridged top that is behind the Grid-it area and the back is neoprene. The material is soft so you don’t have to worry about the case scratching your iPad screen to back. This little case holds so much you may be able to travel for business with your iPad and just take this one case to keep your gadgets in order. I love that your cable stay neat and you don’t have to dig around to find what you need.

Verdict

Pros

  • Awesome Grid-It area
  • Well padded

Cons

  • Neoprene flap gets harder to close when the case is full

Conclusion

The Cocoon Grid-It Wrap is a fantastic iPad case that will work with just about any tablet. This is my new favorite for traveling with my iPad.
