Amazon is expected to enter the tablet market in Q4 of this year, maybe even earlier. Amazon supposed to aim at selling 4 million tablets this year. Digitimes reports that Amazon held talks with several touch panel makers. The report highlights that several of these suppliers are booked out by Apple of the iPad. It might actually not be that easy to still find enough touch panels for a massive production run.
The details about the Amazon tablet are still unknown. The only thing we know for sure that an Amazon Tablet is coming.
Amazon has the content eco-system and cloud services in place to effectively compete with Apple. Amazon also has collected tremendous experience with the Kindle device. I am pretty sure they know how to do a tablet right that can rattle the domination of the Apple iPad.
