Spotify is launching today in the United States. There will be free ad supported streaming music service on an invite-only basis at launch. The Unlimited Spotify plan without mobile streaming would sell for $4.99. Spotify Premium would cost you $9.99 and includes mobile access. You can get in on the paid services right away.
Looks like Spotify launches ahead of the Facebook Vibes music offering. Recent rumors also suggest that Spotify will not be the only music service that Facebook will offer.
Spotify has chosen an interesting launch day to start competing with Apple's iTunes service. Today it is anticipated that Apple will launch OS X Lion along with new MacBook Air and possibly more new hardware.
