OS X Lion Release Date is up in the Air

Apple did not release OS X Lion Today. Rumors of release date are now all over the place.

It is now well into July 14 and Apple did not release OS X Lion. It is now almost certain that the highly anticipated OS X update is not coming today. Apple has only specified July as timeframe for the release, but early on the July 14 release date got settled in the rumor mill. A report of overnight visual changes to Apple Stores should have happened last night, but that rumor was apparently very wrong.

Earlier today we already published a report that the OS X Lion update might not happen. In it we link to MIC Gadget. This site says that Chinese Apple Store will change visuals tonight, putting the OS X Lion release to tomorrow, July 15.

But CultofMac just filed a report quoting a reader saying that an Apple Store employ told him that OS X Lion launches on July 26. July 26 is a Tuesday, Apple's favorite release day.

So at this point we just do not know when OS X Lion will be released. The OS X Lion release is also seen to trigger the launch of the new 2011 MacBook Air, MacBook and Mac mini. Get the latest OS X Lion News.
