Apple just launched OS X Lion and a new version of the MacBook Air. Now that the Apple Store is back another thing got revealed. The white MacBook is gone. Apple has removed the 13-inch white MacBook. Apple is not mentioning the discontinuation of the MacBook in the announcements made today.
Phil Schiller is though quoted in the MacBook Air announcement with MacBook Air is the ultimate everyday notebook. This is what the MacBook was. It looks like the entry level $999 MacBook Air is now what you should by your kids as first Apple computer. As data is moving to the iCloud, the 64GB storage limitation is not a real issue going forward and who needs built-in CD or DVD drives? Do you miss the MacBook already?
