Today Nielsen published a new report on the US Smartphone market. According to June data from Nielsen, Google’s Android now claims the largest share of the U.S. consumer smartphone market with 39%. Apple’s iOS is in second place with 28%, while RIM Blackberry is down to 20%. Both Android and Apple added one percent point compared to the previous Nielsen report in June.
Because Apple is the only company manufacturing smartphones with the iOS operating system, it is the top smartphone manufacturer in the United States. Right now Apple is also in the lead world-wide. This can still change when Samsung releases their earnings tomorrow.
