Apple is largest Smartphone Maker, Samsung is Second

Nokia is history. Apple is the number one smartphone maker world-wide followed by Samsung. Today Samsung released the earning numbers for the past quarter and revealed that the company sold 19.2 million smartphones according to Strategy Analytics (via Bloomberg). Apparently Samsung did not break out the number of sold smartphone and phones for the last quarter. I guess because they are just number two.

Apple sold 20.34m iPhones in the same quarter. Nokia had a massive drop and only sold 16.7m last quarter. So the new ranking is Apple at the top, followed by Samsung and Nokia on third.
