Apple iPad 2 shortage is over. iPad ships within 24 hours from the Apple Store

Apple has now finally caught up with iPad 2 demand in the United States. End of June you still had to wait 1-2 weeks. Now the iPad 2 shipping estimate is within 24hrs, as it is for most other Apple products offered from the Apple Store.

We are in the middle of summer and buying gadgets is not on the top of the list of most people. This sure helps Apple to get on top of the supply. Sales appear to be still strong as there is still a limit of two iPads per order.

One of the reasons is that new iPad 2 costumer spread the word to their friends about the iPad and how they love it. You have to own and iPad to know why you like it. More people taking the plunge result into even more who get tempted to try it out. iPad sales are still rolling on a big snow ball effect.

Last quarter Apple sold 9.25 million iPads. I am not sure if they will beat that number this quarter, but I am pretty sure that after the launch of iOS 5 and the iCloud, iPad 2 sales will peak again.

If there will be a new iPad 3 still this fall is in my opinion still very unlikely. Apple will bet on the new iOS 5 release and the iCloud to drive sales.
