New report claims the iPhone 5 or more specific the iPhone 4S goes on sale on Friday, October 7.
Seven is not a lucky number today. Earlier we reported about a rumor that Apple will hold a media event on September 7 announcing the new iPhone 5. The Loop followed that up and called Bullshit. Now Tipb (via 9to5Mac) reports that the iPhone 4S would go on sale on October 7. There is no specific source described in the report. The October 7 release date would be for a performance upgraded iPhone 4 aka iPhone 4S.

The report also says that the iPad 3 will not launch this Fall and comes in Spring of 2012. This is actually what I also believe, which is though contrary to another iPad 3 rumor we posted a couple minutes ago.
The iPhone 5 release rumors get really rather complicated. We know basically look at three new potential iPhones:
A premium iPhone that would have a completely new design and would look like this.
There will be no iPhone 5 and we just get a souped up iPhone 4 with A5 CPU and 8MP camera.
Apple will actually release two iPhones. The iPhone 5 and a new low-cost iPhone based on the iPhone 4 with low storage capacity.
It has never been that confusing before an iPhone launch. What is your favorite outcome?
