Ready for another iPhone 5 release date? How does September 12 sound to you? Engadget posted a rumor from a "vigilant tipster" saying that Telefonica is scaling back its current iPhone inventory starting on August 22 through September 12. This would mean Telefonica prepares for the new iPhone 5 launch on or soon after September 12.
In recent days rumors about an October launch for the iPhone 5 have been more dominant. The last iPhone 5 Release Date guess we featured was October 7. Before that we carried a rumor that Apple would hold a media event on September 7 to announce the iPhone 5, but that date has been denounced by The Loop. As we expect Apple to not just quietly launch the iPhone 5, we think that the September 12 date for the iPhone 5 sales launch is way to early.
My expectation is that Apple will hold a media event somewhen in the 2nd half of September. The iPhone 5 goes on sale then mid-October. We actually might see two new iPhones. The premium iPhone 5 and a lower cost iPhone 4S. More iPhone 5 News.
