Sprint has long offered 4G services via WiMAX. LTE has though become the favored 4G technology. Sprint has sent out invites to the press for a Strategy Update on October 7. The graphics used on the invite suggest that it is about the network infrastructure and not about phones. As you might have heard, the iPhone 5 is supposed to come to Sprint in October.
Sprint could announce to start offering LTE services in addition to WiMAX. Of course that transition or dual strategy needs some explaining. That is why Sprint organizes this event.
