As reported yesterday, Nike unveiled the 2011 Nike Air Mag. 1,500 of the LED-electroluminescent shoes will be auctioned on eBay, Sept 8th - Sept 18th. All net proceeds from the auction sales will go directly to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. The 2011 Nike Air Mag look very much like the Nike's Marty McFly got in the Back to the Future II movie. Here comes the bad news. The 2011 Nike Air Mag do not power lace. This is kind of weird, because in this video from May, Nike designer Tinker Hartfield said they would.
The only technical thing the 2011 Nike Mag do is to light up. Below are two videos that introduce the 2011 Nika Mag sneakers.
Nike is auctioning off 150 pairs each day until September 18. Auctions start at 8:30pm PT. The first round of auctions are underway. Prices depending on shoe size are already toping $,4000. The Nike Air Mag auction can be found here.
