Facebook announces Timeline, Music and Netflix Integration at F8

Mark Zuckerberg took the stage at the Facebook F8 to announce several new features and offerings coming to Facebook. The fun part was the appearance of Andy Samberg impersonating Zuckerberg. The major new UI feature is Timeline. Timeline is wider than your old profile, and it's a lot more visual.  The first thing you'll notice is the giant photo right at the top. This is your cover, and it's completely up to you which of your photos you put here. As you scroll down past your cover, you'll see your posts, photos and life events as they happened in time. You choose what's featured on your timeline. You can star your favorites to double their size or hide things altogether. Read more about Timeline on the Facebook blog.

Facebook also announced the long expected Spotify music integration. The way it works is that you allow your Spotify music player to share all your activity on the new Ticker. So your friends can see what you listen to right now. Netflix will also integrate in Facebook, but not in the US for now. The reason are privacy laws that need to change first. Netflix on Facebook will launch in 44 other countries first.
