4G Networks conquer Rural Areas as Alternative to Satellite Internet

Broadband internet is as important as electricity these days. If you live in an area where Telcos are not providing you with a DSL service you had only the chance to get a Satellite Dish based Internet service. With the growing coverage of 4G networks a wireless broadband connection is now also a choice. In Germany the government actually pushes carries to also roll out 4G in areas where no cable based broadband connectivity exists.

Over the past 10 years, many advancements have been made in the networking and telecommunications arena. Wireless solutions are much more common, and hard-wired connections are no longer necessary; Internet users can enjoy the luxury of the Internet untethered.

So you should not think about 4G to be just for mobile devices. Companies like http://internet.clear.com also offer 4G for the home. A neat thing is also to get a combined plan where you can have the same service at home and on the road on your 4G smartphone.

Of course if you live basically off the grid a satellite dish internet service is the only way to update you Facebook status.
