Apple's Siri Pitch: "Siri on iPhone 4S lets you use your voice to send messages, schedule meetings, place phone calls, and more. Ask Siri to do things just by talking the way you talk. Siri understands what you say, knows what you mean, and even talks back. Siri is so easy to use and does so much, you’ll keep finding more and more ways to use it."
Apple will launch Siri in beta on the iPhone 4S. The rumors referred to Siri as Assistant. Apple is though sticking to the original name of the company they bought for this technology. Below you can watch a video that demonstrates Siri. A guy says "read me the message" while jogging. He also says to Siri, "Play my running mix." Questions Siri can handle include "What’s the traffic like around here?" or "Will I need an umbrella this weekend?". Is this now cool or a gimmick?

I think Apple is right when they say "you'll keep finding more and more ways to use it." That is why it is in beta. Apple does not really know if Siri really will take on. It requires user behavior change. It requires getting comfortable to talk to your iPhone. It requires to trust Siri to do the right thing.
I will give Siri a spin, but I would not call it a world changing feature just yet.
