First iPhone 4S Batch already Sold Out

AT&T said that they sold 200,000 iPhone 4S in the first 12 hours of the pre-order period.

As expected the iPhone 4S pre-order process was madness. Servers broke down and carrier support phone lines got overloaded. AT&T announced that they have sold 200,000 iPhone 4S during the first 12 hours. Congratulations to AT&T to be able to process that many orders. This marks AT&T's most successful iPhone launch in history. Apple states now on the Apple Store that there is a 1-2 week delay in shipment of the new iPhone 4S.

This means the first batch of iPhone 4S units is sold. As reported I got already told on Friday that my iPhone 4S would ship in 6-8 weeks from T-Mobile Germany. My guess is that they just do not know how much inventory is coming in from Apple. As always the United States get preferred inventory.

No matter if some are a been a bit disappointed about the iPhone 4S, it will be the bestselling iPhone ever - that is pretty much certain.

The iPhone 4S will start being delivered on October 14. The next important date is October 12, where Apple is releasing iOS 5 and the iCloud.
