The Apple iPad will be the most wanted tablet during Black Friday 2011. Will there be any iPad deals?
The Android tablets are struggling to win marketshare from the category defining Apple iPad. HoneyComb Android tablet are already sold at a discount and we anticipate tons of Black Friday deals on the current generation of Android tablet like the Xoom. Most consumers will though not care for Black Friday Android tablet deals, they want the Apple iPad 2. The original iPad was in high demand also last Black Friday. The best deal at the end was at the Apple Black Friday Sale. Apple offered the 16GB iPad for $458 instead of $499. You saved $41, which is not really a lot. There was actually one better deal last year. You might remember that T.J. Maxx out of nowhere offered iPads for $399 a week before Black Friday.

So what iPad Black Friday 2011 deals can you expect? As it looks to me the iPad 2 supply is sufficient but not over the top. The Apple Store ships iPads right away, which is always a good sign of a good supply situation. Amazon though is still not carrying the iPad 2. There are only third party offers that are over priced. This has been like forever and is not linked to Amazon's new tablet the Kindle Fire. Walmart has iPad 2 supply and is also selling the iPad with a start accessory and a $5 VUDU video service credit.
My guess is that we will see again only very moderate iPad deals during Black Friday 2011. There might be again a stunt by a retailer like we have seen last year. I could imagine that Best Buy is going to offer a iPad with a $75 gift card as store only deal to drive customers into their stores. Besides that I only see again a maximum of about 10% discount that Apple will offer during the Apple Store Black Friday sale.
