The HP TouchPad aftermath is still continuing and throws up weird situations. HP has sponsored the movie Real Steel with Hugh Jackman that opened last week. Looks like HP has planned a long time ago to promote the HP TouchPad via the Real Steel. HP is giving away 20 HP TouchPads (32GB HP TouchPads with $149.99 value) in Real Steel sweepstakes hosted on their Facebook page. Five are supposed to be signed by Hugh Jackman (Official rules soften that a bit). So Hugh Jackman is going to sign a discontinued gadget that already got liquidated in a fire sale - hilarious.
So if you are luck you can get your hands on a 32GB HP TouchPad for $0.
You can enter the TouchPad sweepstakes here. Bryna Corcoran, HP's contact for the TouchPad supply situation just tweeted that there are no news yet on the TouchPad sale. This is though somewhat confirming that HP is still going to offer $99 TouchPads to consumers. As reported the HP employees already got their chance to by $99 TouchPads.
The HP Store is right now just selling HP TouchPad accessories.
