The Black Friday 2011 is on November 25. According to our Black Friday Countdown Clock, this is only 42 days from today. The Apple Stores is gearing up for a huge sales day tomorrow. The iPhone 4S is going on sale and lines are already forming. Supply will be limited as the iPhone 4S demand in during the pre-order was already record breaking. Black Friday is also a huge sales event for the Apple Store. Apple manages with small discounts to drive masses to their store. Last year Apple sold tons of iPads because Apple offered a $41 discount. This is a situation other brands can just dream about. Through Apple's tight management of prices in the retail channel, $41 becomes suddenly a bargain discount on a $500 item. With a discount of less than 10% Apple can lure consumers into their stores, because there is just no better deal available elsewhere.
For several Apple products you actually get better deals from other retailers during the Black Friday sales season. Each year this is different. The iPad was in short supply last year and no store offered a discount. An iPod touch or a MacBook was offered at lower prices than Apple did.
My prediction is that Apple is again offering a discount on the iPad. Select MacBook Air will also be on sale again. The Black Friday deals Apple offered on the iPod nano and iPod touch last year were disappointing. I could imagine that Apple will be more aggressive on the iPod touch. The new iPod touch has basically not changed, which makes it very cheap to build for Apple.
As I wrote on Black Friday Countdown the other day, the best strategy is to look for Apple deals during November at retailers like Best Buy, Amazon and Walmart. If a deal is saving you 10% or more than jump on it. If nothing shows up, hope for the best on the Apple Black Friday 2011 Sale.
