The iPhone 4S is just on sale since a couple days, but Walmart has already a sale on it. At select Walmart stores you find the 16GB iPhone 4S from Verizon and AT&T for $188 instead of the regular $199 with new contract. That is about 5% discount, which is already awesome for an Apple product. More details on Walmart.
This sale is also unusual as the iPhone 4S inventory is running short. Apple Stores are now selling the iPhone 4S only via a prior reservation according to MacRumors.
Earlier today we reported that Apple has already sold 4 million iPhone 4S over the weekend. This is over twice as much as the iPhone 4 sold. The iPhone 4S is will be an amazing cash cow for Apple. There are a lot of reused components from the iPhone 4 in the iPhone 4S which drives up the margins dramatically. This I think also explains that Walmart can give a discount on the iPhone 4S. There is just more wiggle room with the iPhone 4S.

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.
The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
