The Nest Thermostat is the brainchild of Tony Fadell, the hardware designer of the Apple iPod. Fadell left Apple in 2009 and after a break he started a company called Nest Labs to make the most easy to use Thermostat that also saves energy. The Nest Thermostat looks first of all very sexy and it is smart too. Nest learns from your habits and input over time. It is also connected via Wi-Fi to your iPhone for remote control.
Sensors of the Nest Thermostat even know when you've left the house. Nest also reads weather reports via its Wi-Fi interface and knows how the weather is where your house is. If you walk up to Nest it automatically turns on the round display.
This is probably the most awesome gadget of 2011. It will not work in my house though. See compatibility list here. Watch a video below that introduces the Nest Thermostat. It is very Apple.
The Nest Thermostat is shipping on November 14th for $249.99 and you can pre-order it now on the Nest store.
