The $197 Target Laptop deal launching today is going to be selling out extremely fast today. This neat little laptop is an awesome bargain at $197. As reported the new Target Weekly Ad features two awesome early Black Friday Deals priced at $197. We already looked closer at the $197 32-inch Westinghouse VR-3215 HDTV and now we highlight the Acer AO-722-0473 11.6-inch Laptop on sale starting today for $197 at Target. The $197 Acer Laptop is on sale now online at Target.com.
Update:
The Acer Laptop is now sold out online. Your only chance is to find it in Target Stores now. Best Buy is still offering a $199.99 14-inch Laptop today.
Features of the Acer AO722-0473 include 11.6" HD Widescreen CineCrystal™ LCD display (1366 x 768px), AMD Dual-Core C-60 1.0GHz with TurboCORE Technology up to 1.33GHz, 1GB DDR3 1066 SDRAM, 320GB HDD, ATI Radeon HD 6290 Graphics, AMD A50M Fusion chipset, built-in stereo speakers, webcam, multi-gesture touchpad, 802.11b/g/n WLAN, HDMI, Multi-in-1 card reader and 6-cell battery (7 hour). Some including actually Acer refer to the Acer AO722-0473 as a netbook, because it does not have a DVD drive.
According to Acer's specifications the Acer AO722-0473 the 11.6-inch Laptop has 2GB RAM. The Target product page of the AO722-0473 only has 1GB of RAM. This could be one of the ways how Target is saving cost on this incredible Laptop deal. If this turns out to be true you definitely need to get a 1GB RAM upgrade for this laptop. Running Windows 7 Home Premium on 1GB RAM is no fun.
The Target $197 Laptop deal is great if you like a bargain, very portable laptop with long battery life. It is not a good choice if you want a large screen and need a optical drive. To get an additional 1GB RAM is a hassle, but necessary.
To upgrade the Acer AO722-0473 to 2GB you actually have to buy a 2GB DDR3 1066Mhz RAM module as this laptop only has a single soDIMM slot according to the specs I found. Good thing that a 2GB DDR3 1066Mhz is costing you less than $15 on Amazon. Note also that you cannot upgrade to more than 2GB according to the specifications of the Acer AO722-0473.
