I really hate having to type in letters and numbers on the things attached to my TV using a normal remote. If you have an Xbox or set-top box that does Netflix, having to type in those search letters can take forever with a normal remote. A new remote is on Kickstarter trying to raise to the money to come to the real world.
The new remote is called the Bridge and it is made to be universal with support for just about anything in your home. The PS3 won't be in that mix since it uses Bluetooth. The Bridge remote looks like a PS3 remote to me with shoulder buttons and an analog stick. It has a QWERTY keyboard that looks like a Blackberry.
The Bridge can support just about everything in your entertainment center and can pair to your PC or to your smartphone too. The people behind the Bridge are trying to raise $50,000 to make the remote and so far, they have about $4,000 with 47 more days to meet their goal.
