Walmart Black Friday $498 51-inch Samsung Plasma TV Deal challenged by Sears and Kmart

Walmart offers this year a 51-inch Samsung PN51D430 as their big screen Plasma bargain deal in the Walmart Black Friday Ad. Sears and Kmart have advertised also a 50-inch Plasma TV under $500. Let's meet the three contenders:

  • Walmart:
    51-inch Samsung PN51D430 720p HDTV - $498
  • Sears:
    50-inch Zenith Z50PV220 1080p HDTV - $499.99
  • Kmart:
    50-inch Panasonic TCP5032C 720p HDTV -$499.99

The Walmart Plasma TV has the initial lead as it is 1-inch (to be exact 0.7-inch) larger, but the Sears Zenith Plasma has 1080p full HD resolution. The specifications of the Samsung PN51D430 are still in the dark, as this is a special model made for Black Friday. Besides Walmart, Sam's Club and hhgregg are selling this Samsung Plasma TV.

We know more about the Zenith Z50PV220 HDTV as it is on sale right now on Sears.com for $629.99. The Z50PV220 has a contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1, 600Hz, 3 HDMI ports, ATSC/NTSC/Clear QAM tuner, PC input and is Energy Star qualified.

The Panasonic Viera TCP5032C (P32C) is selling right now on Kmart.com for $679.99. Features include 600Hz, 2 HDMI ports, 20W speakers, Viera link, Viera tools and SD card slot.

I recommend the Sears Black Friday 50-inch Plasma TV deal if you want to use a PS3 or Xbox 360 on this TV. There the 1080p resolution will pay off. If you just want to use these bargain Plasma TVs for watching regular cable programming I am torn between the Walmart and the Kmart offer. Panasonic is the Plasma TV brand. Samsung is though also a great consumer brand and the PN51D430 is a bit larger. Both of these two Plasma TVs are highly recommendable at under $500. Good luck to score one on Black Friday.
