Black Friday: This happens when all Android Phones are Free

The highly anticipated Amazon Black Friday Deals Week 2011 has launched on Monday and with that Amazon pulled the trigger on a never before seen Android phone sale. All Android phones Amazon offers are essentially Free - they sell all for 1 Penny each (new contract required). This Android phone sale is now available for 3 days and the list of bestseller has changed quite a bit.

Now the comparatively very expensive Motorola RAZR 4G for Verizon is the bestselling phone on Amazon Wireless. It sells regularly for $299.99 on Verizon. The second best selling phone is the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic Touch 4G for Sprint and on third is the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket 4G for AT&T. On fourth is the HTC Rezound 4G for Verizon and finally on 5th is the Samsung Galaxy S II 4G for AT&T. So this is the ranking when all phones are free. Consumers go for the most expensive one. It also is a hint for Verizon to lower the price of the RAZR 4G to normal levels to make it affordable for more consumers.

Verizon and Sprint phones come with the added bonus of a free $100 gift card when the hotspot feature gets activated. This might skew the ranking, but in general it seems that the RAZR 4G is now on top because you save about $300 and at many consumers who want the RAZR 4G, but did not put down $300 for it jumped on this deal now to own this edgy Android phone.

What is still surprising to me is that Amazon still has stock of all the popular phones after three days. Amazon must have prepared this promotion with tremendous inventory to make it count. The Amazon Penny Pincher Phone Sale runs through Cyber Monday.
