One of the steps that Google goes through before a software update is let out the doors is internal testing. It sounds like the internal testing is ramping up at Google with reports that Google workers are receiving updates for Nexus S smartphones to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The updates will presumably be coming to the public in early 2012.
The process is being called dogfooding, which means allowing the workers to test the OS in a controlled environment before it ships publically. One of the workers talked, apparently too soon, about the update. One guy going by Adel put up two Google+ posts that have now been deleted.
The posts read "Just got Ice-cream Sandwich update on my Nexus S & it's looking great" and "Yeah an OTA, but it's an early one for Google employees so we test it further so it's even more awesome when you guys get it. So sadly I can't comment on it more at this time..." I wonder how much trouble he got in for posting those.
