CES 2012 will be here before you know it and will bring with it a bunch of new gadgets and gizmos for us to check out. Among the new products will also be some demonstrations of new technologies and one of the most important is the HDBaseT demonstration that will be shown.
The HDBaseT alliance will be showing some possible consumer uses for the technology when it is available. The tech will be sown off at CES in a demo house. Three different uses will be on display including the ability to send uncompressed HD video around the home using 5Play, a home theater install, whole home network, and a surveillance camera system.
The most interesting to me is 5Play. This tech shoots HD video, audio, Ethernet, and 100W of power along with controls up to 100m over a single LAN cable. That would mean one cable would power your devices and give them connectivity. That is very impressive!
