We already know that Sony is paying huge money to get the Ericsson brand off the smartphone line and bring the Xperia offerings under its umbrella. We also know that the company will only be doing Android phones in 2012. A rumor is floating around that Sony will be debuting its new smartphones at CES 2012.
The phones will be the first to have Sony only as the brand. TechRadar reports that another website received an invitation to the Sony booth along with another invite to see the latest Xperia phones. There are also some shots of the first Sony only smartphone floating around. Hinting at a CES debut.
I will be the first to say that handset in the pictures doesn't look like anything special. I hope Sony has more up its sleeves for CES than a name change. It won't have much time to make a name before the tech world moves on. The devices had better have some cool features in store.
