I've never really stopped and thought much about how many apps must be downloaded on any given day from the App Store by iOS device users. A stat company called Fiksu has been tracking that data and in November 2011, the App Store hit a milestone. The company reports that in November the downloads for free apps alone on the App Store topped 5.65 million per day.
That is a gain of 83% compared to the same month of 2010. I wonder how many paid apps were downloaded during that month. I can only imagine at 5.65 million downloads per day that the bandwidth that Apple paid for was huge.
Daily downloads started to pick up in October with 4.91 million each day in that month. Before that the downloads were down significantly. That downward trend is thanks to consumers not buying the iPhone while waiting for the iPhone 4S to launch.
