Rumors keep flying and the latest come from sources in the supply chain reports DigiTimes. These sources are claiming that the two new iPad models will be added to the line in addition to the existing current iPad 2. The really interesting part is that neither of the two new versions are said to be a smaller screen tablet that we keep hearing rumors about.
The iPad 2 we have right now is said to be sticking around to compete with the Kindle Fire. To compete it would need to be near the same price as the Fire I would think so I expect to see a price cut there, if there is any truth to this rumor at all. The other two tablets are going to target the mid and high end of the range.
Both of the new tablets will have pentile displays according to sources with 1536 x 2048 resolution. Sharp is the panel supplier according to the sources. The tablets are said to get a 5MP rear camera in the mid-range and an 8MP camera in the high-end tablet. The higher end tablet is also said to have a 14,000mAh battery, which is much larger than the current battery. Another key difference is a rumored quad-core A6 under the hood.
