Microsoft has made no secret of the fact that it will be launching Windows 8 later in 2012. That is assuming it hits no issues like those that it has with new OS launches in the past. With Windows 8 will come a new flavor of tablet that runs Windows software and Intel hardware. With tablets being hot right now you can bet that there will be all sorts of firms bringing them to market.
DigiTimes is citing sources that claim both Acer and Lenovo will be launching new Wintel tablets in Q3 2012. That is a long way from now, but the tablets will be coming. The source of the rumors comes from the upstream supply chain according to DigiTimes.
The tablets are said to be running Clover Trail processors when they come even though the Medfield processor will be available thanks to the more power efficient nature of Clover Trail. The Wintel tablets are expected to do well in the business realm.
