LG is set to show off a new Android gadget at CES that is using the new Intel Medfield processor. I'm not sure what to make of this since ARM parts are rumored to be more power efficient than the Medfield processors.
LG will show the device at CES in about a week. The Medfield is Intel's big push to find its way into all the Android devices on the mobile market and displace some of ARMs stranglehold. Battery life remains to be seen, this is what the platform popularity is likely to hinge on.
There is no word on exactly what the gadget will look like. It will be a smartphone and Intel has said already its first Android smartphone will be shown at CES. This LG product could well be that smartphone. We will be on the lookout for more news.
