Apple Event announced for January 19

Apple has sent out media invitations for their first media event of the year. The invite says that the announcement will be for education. Not sure who exciting that is going to be. The event we are all waiting for is the unveiling of the new iPad 3 or iPad 2S

The January 19 Apple event is likely about textbooks and how Apple is going to offer them via iBooks. Steve Jobs actually listed textbooks as one of the three things he wanted to reinvent. The other two items have been TVs and photography.

Apple is also expected to make an announcement about new features in iTunes U.
