Now that Sony has started to fold the Xperia brand into its pocket, we are seeing some new stuff surface. A teaser campaign started today from Sony showing an Xperia smartphone running some sort of app with a big dot on it.
As the user goes up a path surrounded by different things like an old record player, a new TV, and at the end a robot arm they are all activated by the single dot on the screen of the smartphone. It's not entirely clear what the Dot Switch is, but all will be revealed on February 12.
From what I see, it’s a universal remote app of some sort that allows you to turn on things you are in front of with NFC tech. Others think it's got something to do with multi-screen entertainment. It's likely to go along with the next gen TVs that Sony touted at CES. We will know for sure in a few days.
