Microsoft is rumored to be ending the Points that it has always used to purchase things like digital games on Xbox Live and other places. Points were also used in the Zune marketplace and for some Windows Phone content too.
I don’t think many people will miss the Points if this rumor is true. Points were confusing and had to be bought in at least 400 packs. If Microsoft moves to plain money with a credit card, hopefully you will be able to simply pay what the game cost and be done.
The source of the rumor is someone "with knowledge" this person says that devs are being told to be sure their content is ready for the change. The swap is supposed to be by the end of the year.
