China is set to get a second official iPhone 4S retailer with the smartphone hitting China Telecom on March 9. Apple previously tried to launch the phone in China on a different carrier only to have shortages that led to angry customers who threw eggs at store windows. Apple is expecting China to be one of its largest growth countries in the world.
The iPhone 4S will be free on some plans for any of the storage capacities. Sales in China are expected to be huge even though the iPhone 4S has been on the black market for a long time inside the country. I hope that this time out Apple will have enough stock in the country to avoid issues.
“iPhone 4S has been an incredible hit with customers around the world,” Apple spokesperson Natalie Harrison, told The Loop. “We’re thrilled to be launching iPhone 4S with China Telecom and can’t wait to get it into the hands of even more customers in China.”
