Today I'm going to look at the X-Doria Defense 360 case for the iPhone 4/4S. This clear case adds little bulk and protects your phone from scratches and more. If you want a case to protect your iPhone, and prefer the looks of the device with no protection, this may be the case for you. Read on for all the details.

Specifications

The X-Doria Defense 360 fits the iPhone 4/4S and sells for $29.99. The case covers the entire front screen and still allows full clutch control. It's made from polycarbonate and leaves controls uncovered. You can order one now.

In Use

The first thing I noticed about the X-Doria Defense 360 was that it's the first case I've seen that covers the screen completely as well as the phone back and sides. The case is made from clear polycarbonate on the front and sides and the back has a slight frosted tint to it. The case leaves all the controls and ports uncovered and has a slot for the home button, the speakers, and the rear camera as well.

The case appears to be designed to fit AT&T or Verizon iPhone versions and is easy to install and remove. The case is made from polycarbonate, but this polycarbonate feels thinner than other cases I have tested made from the material. Obviously, I'm not going to put my iPhone into the case and then drop it to see if the X-Doria Defense 360 offers protection.

I feel like this case is probably more geared toward preventing scratches than protecting people likely to drop their device from a pocket on the concrete. I always recommend cases that are more robust for anyone who spends a lot of time using the iPhone outdoors. I do think this is the perfect thing for keeping your gadget safe from scratches and I especially like that it covers the screen. The touchscreen works just as well the case on as it does with the case off.

Verdict

Pros

  • Easy to install
  • Protects screen

Cons

  • May not provide the best protection from drops

Conclusion

If you can live without the most protection available for your iPhone and are looking for something to prevent scratches and protect the screen, the X-Doria Defense 360 might be perfect for your needs.
