Performance and green!
Porsche invited a bunch of automotive writers to sit in the passenger seat of an early prototype of its epic 918 Spyder hybrid supercar. When the cars finished, it won't wear the mismatched 911 panels you see in this photo, but it will pack the same beast of a powertrain.
Don't Miss: Hottest CES 2017 Announcements
The car has a 4.6 L V-8 engine paired with two electric motors producing over 700 hp total. Porsche expects car to have a 202 mph top speed and to be a hit 60 in under 3 seconds, it still get roughly 78 miles per gallon in the European combined test cycle. The car will also be able to cruise for 16 miles on electric power alone. Once production versions hit the streets, you can own one for about $870,000. I'm going to need a raise.
