SSD are becoming more and more mainstream. Hard-drives are getting degraded to storing backups and large file selections. Apps and operating systems are running of SSD for speedy and silent computing.
Digitimes reports that Intel is preparing several new SSDs series coming up soon following the release of the new Intel 520 SSD series. In May, the new 300 series aka "Maple Crest" is supposed to be released. The new Intel 720 SSD series, codename "Ramsdale", with capacities up to 800GB will follow later. The large capacity 720 SSD series are aimed at enterprise use.
The report also says that Intel released the 500 series SSD (King Crest) based on 20nm in Q3 and the 300 series (Jay Crest and Oak Crest) in Q4.
