Sharp and LG reportedly meet now Apple's quality standards for the iPad Retina Display.
For the new iPad launch Apple had to rely on Samsung to supply the Retina Display as LG and Sharp did not get ready in time. Digitimes reports today that Sharp and LG have now met Apple's quality standards and will supply Retina Displays for the new iPad in Q2. The impact of LG and Sharp failing to meet the deadlines for the iPad production did not have a massive impact. Samsung was apparently able to scale production accordingly.
I am actually wondering when other vendors will start offering tablets with Retina Displays. Has Apple an exclusivity window?
