Last week gaming blog Kotaku revealed that the PS4's codename is supposed to be Orbis. Once that word was out, an avalanche of leaks and rumors about the next generation Sony PlayStation was triggered.
The Sony PlayStation Orbis is supposed to arrive in time for Christmas 2013. This is also the target for the next generation Xbox (Xbox 720). Sony is supposedly dropping the CELL CPU architecture and is working with AMD on the new PS Orbis. The architecture change might explain the rumor that the PS4 is not backward compatible, which already raised an uproar among PS3 owners. Some leaked sketches imply that the Orbis will have a camera and touchscreen user interface.
GamesIndustry.biz has published a detailed analyses of the current Sony PlayStation Orbis rumors. Read the report here.
